Formulae RP-1

The New Asphalt Rejuvenator

A virgin plant-based rejuvenator made in Australia, engineered to outperform.

About RP1

Formulae RP-1 didn't happen overnight. It started when we were asked by a local asphalt company to develop a rejuvenator for their RAP. The early results were promising, but only in the short term. Long-term asphalt performance told a different story. So we went back to the lab, and four years, dozens of formulations, and tests later, the result is Formulae RP-1: the newest bio-based rejuvenator on the Australian market and the most consistent in independent testing.

Made in Australia. By an all-Australian-owned company. For an industry that's ready to do things differently.

Key Benefits

Made
in
Australia

Manufactured and formulated entirely in Australia by an Australian-owned company. No imported formulations, no overseas supply chain risk.

RAP
Binder

Rejuvenation

Formulae RP-1 restores reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) binder to all standard C-class binders as specified in AS2008.

Lower
Usage
Rates

Initial trial data show Formulae RP-1 requires a lower application rate than competing products. Less product. Same or better result.

Plant
Based
Formula

RP-1 is formulated entirely from virgin plant-based feedstocks. It contains no crude oil derivatives and no recycled waste oil.

RP-1 Performance

How Formulae RP-1 stacks up against four competing products. Two other bio-based formulations, one hydrocarbon-based product, and one recycled waste oil product, across four key performance metrics.

What do the numbers mean?

Testing

Low mass change result is indicative of low volatility. This metric ensures minimal loss of vapours in the asphalt pugmill when mixing with RAP at elevated temperatures. Bio-based products outperformed both hydrocarbon and recycled waste oil alternatives. Formulae RP-1 achieved the highest flash point of any product tested at 258°C, indicating superior thermal stability and safe handling advantages when compared to other rejuvenators.

Efficiency

Based on low viscosity and superior solvency characteristics, results consistently show that Formulae RP-1 requires a lower application rate to achieve equivalent or better binder rejuvenation. For operators, that means real savings per tonne of asphalt produced without compromising on specification compliance.

Consistency

With a storage stability result of just 0.1 (the lowest and most stable of all products tested), Formulae RP-1 delivers the same product characteristics every single time. No batch-to-batch variability. No surprises on site. The fixed formulation of RP-1 means the chemical constituents don't vary, which is something recycled waste oil products simply can't guarantee.

Frequently Asked
Questions

  • Formulae RP-1 is a virgin plant-based asphalt rejuvenator made in Australia by the Green Goanna. It is designed to restore reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) binder to all standard C-class specifications as outlined in AS2008.

  • Unlike hydrocarbon-based or recycled waste oil rejuvenators, Formulae RP-1 uses only virgin plant-based feedstocks meaning no crude oil derivatives and no variability in chemical composition. Independent testing has confirmed it outperforms competing products on flash point, storage stability, and mass change under RTFO conditions. Lower application rate required

  • Yes. Formulae RP-1 is formulated to rejuvenate RAP binder to all standard C-class binders as specified in AS2008.

  • Trial data indicates Formulae RP-1 requires a lower application rate compared to competing rejuvenators. Exact rates vary by RAP content and binder condition — contact us for project-specific guidance.

  • Formulae RP-1 is available nationally across Australia. State-specific pricing is available on request. Contact Angelo Dellis at Green Goanna to discuss your project requirements.

  • Yes. Full Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation and independent lab test results are available upon request.
